Pond Salt has many great uses in the Pond.  Use for Disease Treatment, or to help control Algae Growth (in ponds without plants).

Description

Pond Salt has Many Uses, and is often the first “Go-To” choice when dealing with Sick, Stressed, or Injured Fish.  Pond Salt helps restore Natural Electrolytes aiding in Gill Function when Pond Fish are under Stress (whether it be from injury or a predator issue). It also helps Repair the Natural Slime Coat necessary for Disease Prevention.  At the Proper Dose – Salt will Kill 7 out of 9 of the Most Common Parasites that affect Koi and Goldfish.

Before Dosing, you will need to calculate the Gallons of your Pond.  A General Formula for this is L’ x W’ x Average Depth x 7.48.

If you have Aquatic Plants in your Pond – they DO NOT like Salt.  If you can easily remove your Plants, this is our First Suggestion.  If not, based upon the severity of your situation – you can still add Salt to a Pond with Plants – Just at a Lower Dose.  Whenever you add Salt to your Pond, Keep in Mind  – It will only be Removed from your Pond by performing Water Changes!!  We also recommend slowly adding Salt to your Pond.  If adding Large amounts, Break it up over a Couple of Days.  Salt should be diluted in a bucket with Pond Water, and dispersed evenly throughout your Pond.

For Ponds with Plants – You Can generally Add: 1lb per 100 Gallons of Pond Water.

For Disease Treatments (WITHOUT Plants) – You can generally Add: 3 – 6lbs per 100 Gallons of Pond Water.  We HIGHLY suggest buying at Pond Salt Meter when treating for Disease Control, to accurately gauge how much Salt is in your Pond.
